Rossmore Community Hall hosts our BCP Digital Hub. The hall is located in the beautiful rural village of Rossmore, in Cashel, County Tipperary. (E25 D429)
Location
Rossmore is a small village and townland in County Tipperary, with an area of 1,986,493 m². An Ros Mór, translates to The Big Wood, indicative of the forestry in the area. Rossmore is almost equidistant from the three nearest towns. Cashel is 12 kilometres south-east, Thurles is 13 kilometres north-east, and Tipperary Town is 14 kilometres south-west. The Multeen River, a tributary of the River Suir, flows by the village and directly opposite the hall.
Rossmore Community Hall
The Community Hall in Rossmore has a volunteer board, who run and maintain the centre in the village. The board have secured funding to modernise the hall. It is equipped with a stage, large tables, chairs, toilets, a kitchen, workspaces, and is also accessible for those in wheelchairs.
The hall is used to host an array of activities, including meetings for the local coding club, cards games, meetings, training sessions and social events.
Broadband Connection Point (BCP Digial Hub)
For the collective rural area, access to high-speed reliable internet and technology is critical to how we now live and develop. A new digital transformation is changing how people interact with work, school, college and training. Supported by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Department of the Environment, Climate and Communications, 750 Broadband Connection Points have been rolled out to date, Rossmore is one of these.
Through the Connected Communities Initiative, Rossmore Community Hall is now equipped to facilitate a range of onsite and online activities. Whether it’s remote working or study hubs, delivery of eHealth or in-person health services, keeping in touch with family and friends, arts and culture activities or for a range of educational courses and video conferencing.
