Sustainable Tipp (Tipperary’s Sustainable Energy Action Plan 2017-2020) is a planned energy transformation of Tipperary’s housing, commercial, public and community buildings to help promote  and encourage greater energy efficiency in Tipperary. Through a variety of initiatives, the plan will provide opportunities for communities, farmers, homeowners and business owners to save energy and money and become more sustainable. The Sustainable Tipp plan was created following Tipperary’s commitment to The Covenant of Mayors, the world’s largest movement for local climate and energy actions.

The Sustainable Tipp action plan includes 32 actions which will help to reduce Tipperary’s energy-related CO2 emissions by 30% by 2020. These actions cover a wide range of sectors including agriculture, education, planning, residential, local authority and the commercial sector. Delivery of these actions will be supported through European Investment Bank (EIB) funding, SEAI Better Energy Communities Funding Programme and the Rural Development Programme.Sustainable Tipp Partners include Teagasc, Local Development Companies, Tipperary Local Enterprise Office, Limerick Institute of Technology, Public Participation Network, Tipperary County Council and Tipperary Energy Agency.
